Richard Pickles Counselling Services
There are times in our lives when we can get caught up in various difficulties. Counselling can help for issues such as anxiety or depression, shame, trauma, loss, addictions, self esteem, questions of sexuality, and relationship difficulties. Counselling offers a safe, non – judgmental space where you are able to explore how you have got to where you are in life and provides creative ways to live a fuller life.
I offer confidential and professional counselling in Woodley between 8.00am – 9.30pm Monday to Friday. My practice is reachable from Twyford, Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham and Maidenhead.
I have trained in counselling, psychotherapy, addiction psychology, psychoanalytic studies and philosophy. I am an integrative counsellor, incorporating all of these perspectives. Together we will find ways to address the issues you want to work on in ways that work for you.
I provide counselling for:
- Personality disorders
- Alcohol issues
- Substance misuse
- Couple counselling
- Self harm
- Eating disorders
- Personal development
- Childhood issues
I am registered as a counsellor with the International Society of Professional Counsellors and am a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals.
Karen Rosati – Thankyou Richard. You put me at ease from the first phone call. The sessions are held in a relaxed and inviting space which really helped but even without that, your manner and approach was incredibly gentle and comforting. You come across as a very caring, insightful individual and I would encourage anyone thinking about counselling to give you a call
Dr Conforti (counselling psychologist) – Thanks to his personal experiences, thorough knowledge and gentle attitude, Richard is a therapist that can offer useful insight, tactful challenges and unbiased listening with genuine understanding.
Mark Pattrick – Thankyou Richard, friendly reassuring, advising without being intrusive, incredibly attentive and empathetic. a voyage of self discovery. would strongly recommend.
Melanie – Richard first helped me in 2013 after a very tragic family event. I went to him with some horrible things that were whizzing around in my head that I couldn’t tell anyone else and he was very helpful.
I have recently started sessions with Richard again after going through a huge stressful change in my life and some futher family worries.
Talking with Richard, I can be very open, I feel very safe exposing my emotions and he is not shocked at anything. He has a kind and calm way of gently coaching me to be far kinder to myself and put in place some practical simple methods of controlling my worrying thoughts.
Richard is so experienced in any areas of counselling and it feels so reassuring to know he is always there to support me.
I am currently writing a blog to give resources to help people explore life in new ways and give ways of reflecting and managing difficult situations. Please feel free to check this out: https://picklesrichard.wordpress.com/
